Diabetes Prevention - Stay Away From Corn Syrup

According to a news article on Medical News Today mice fed on a high fat and fructose corn syrup diet quickly developed the first symptoms of glucose intolerance - the beginning of type II diabetes!

The research done Brent Tetri, M.D., associate professor of internal medicine at Saint Louis University Liver Center mimicked the typical meals served at fast food restaurants. The mice were not forced to eat, but ate when they were hungry over a 15 week period. A conclusion of the study is that:

"A high-fat and sugar-sweetened diet compounded by a sedentary lifestyle will have severe repercussions for your liver and other vital organs," Dr. Tetri says. "Fatty liver disease now affects about one of every eight children in this country. The good news is that it is somewhat reversible - but for some it will take major changes in diet and lifestyle."

Stay away from high fat content and fructose corn syrup! A change in your diet can have a profound effect. For more information on controlling and/or losing weight visit, Dieting-Help.com.
