Avoiding Sickness - General Health Advice

General health advice can usually offer only so much, and many people skimp on the things that are truly the most important to your health. Your body withstands so much each day, and certain factors can really weaken its ability to function under demand and stresses. There are plenty of general health plans to help you work towards keeping yourself away from sicknesses during the holiday season, as well as the entire year.

Keep yourself warm and covered. This is the best advice possible, and it works. If you allow your body to be exposed and cold for too long, it lowers your defense against cold weather drastically. This can impair your body's ability to fight off infection and viruses.

Drink a lot of liquids. Water may not seem appealing in the winter, but it's the best thing for you. Not coffee, not hot cocoa, but water. Even for general health, water is the best thing for your body. The fluids will keep all of your cells acting properly, and proper oxygen will circulate through your body. This is a good way to keep your body strong and your general health in tact.

Exercise not only makes you feel good when you are prone to winter doldrums, but it also keeps your body regulated. Exercise can also benefit you by burning off all of those extra holiday calories, so that you do not experience the weight gain that most people do after the big holiday season. Exercise keeps your heart rate going strong too, so that you get more circulation, and an overall general health boost.

Multi-vitamins containing a full range of vitamins that your body needs is a great way to jump start your general health. Be careful though, some vitamins cannot be soaked up into your system as quickly as others. You may need to take 2 pills depending on your weight and fitness and a few other factors that contribute to your general health. Vitamins also increase your body's ability to defend against environmental hazards and problems.

Sleep is the number one key for staying healthy. Its not just general health that it influences, but its your overall total body health. A good solid amount of sleep each night can keep you prepared to work all day, and stay away from those nasty colds.

Closing Comments: General health includes so much, but this is the best advice out there, yet it is simple. This general health advice will help your body stay ready to fight off any colds that may come your way, and easily too!

Free Acai Berries For You

Isn't it time you added the Amazing Acai fruit to your diet?

Acai (which is pronounced "ah-sigh-e") berries are picked from a species of palm trees in Brazil. They look very similar to a standard purple type grape. The major difference is that the acai berry has a large seed inside which makes up approximately 80% of the volume of the fruit. Still, native Brazilians found it a must have fruit for part of their diets and have been harvesting the acai berry for hundreds of years.

Dr. Perricone, on the Oprah Show, identified the acai fruit as the number one food on his top 10 super foods list. Other super foods include sweet potatoes, blueberries and fresh broccoli. One of the major benefits of the acai is that it actually has twice the levels of antioxidants as regular blueberries.

The taste of the acai fruit is like a cross as being a blend of raspberries and chocolate. Many think this Rain Forest Fruit is literally nature's perfect food as it is jam packed with powerful antioxidants, important amino acids, and highly needed fatty acids.

Depending on where you live in the world, acai berries and their benefits, are obtained in different ways. Some countries have easy access to the actual fruit, lucky Brazilians! In most countries, though, consumers can only get acai in their diets through a liquid drink or by taking acai berry capsules.

You can get a free 30-day supply of Acai capsules from Prima-Acai through this link: Free bottle of Acai! Only pay $6.95 for shipping!

Great Food For Great Smiles

Teeth And Eating: Best Foods For A Great Smile

Everyone wants a great smile. A great smile is one of the first things people notice, and the biggest part of a great smile is vibrant, healthy, pearly white teeth. And while there are dozens of whitening products and solutions to help you acquire a dazzling smile, let's look at a simpler, more natural way to help you get the same effect.

Just as there are certain foods and drinks that are good for your overall health, there are many that are especially good for your smile. Here's a list of foods and drinks that will help you acquire, and maintain, the bright white smile of your dreams.

Fresh Fruit: Fresh fruit is probably the very best choice you can make for dental health. Fresh fruit stimulates saliva, which decreases the amount of acid in your mouth. Further, saliva helps wash away unwanted food particles.

Apples are probably the best fruit to eat for healthy teeth. Not only do they provide the benefits described above, but they also have contain a natural cleansing abrasive that basically helps polish your teeth.

A quick note ... we emphasize fresh fruit here, because dried fruit often has the adverse effect. Dried fruit usually has a fructose additive, and can easily stick in between your teeth. Choose fresh fruit instead.

Carrots And Celery:

These two fiber filled vegetables are excellent for your teeth. While they don't contain the natural abrasives of, say, the apple, they serve to stimulate the gums, which is crucial for dental health.

Sugarless Gum:

The main benefit of sugarless gum is that it serves as a saliva stimulant. The more saliva in your mouth, the less chance of unwanted food particles which may lead to cavities and gum disease. Further, sugarless gum won't harm tooth enamel. Publisher's Caution: Most sugarless gums contain artificial sweeteners that can be harmful to your health - look for stevia based gum.

Water:

You knew we'd mention water, didn't you? Well, it's true, water is good for your health on so many different levels, but particularly for oral health. Water flushes away food particles, and it often contains flouride which helps keep enamel strong. Tea is another excellent beverage for your teeth, as it contains flouride as well.

Of course, consuming specific foods and drinks are only a part of an overall strategy for optimal oral health. A good diet, proper dental care, and good brushing habits weigh in heavily. But why not give yourself an extra advantage? Incorporate these food and drink products into your daily regimen, and enjoy your best smile possible.
