Did you know that your skin can get a yeast infection?
There are many types of yeast infections: Oral infections or Thrush, Skin fold infections or Intertrigo, Nail fold infections, Penile infection or Balanitis, Genital infection in women or Vulvovaginal candidiasis.
Candidiasis, the general name for yeast infections, can occur when the body's defenses are low. Other contributing factors include living in a warm climate, pregnancy, contraceptive pills, diabetes, iron deficiency and overuse of antibiotics, Additionally, if you have some skin disease such as lichen planus, psoriasis, etc., you are more likely to develop a yeast infection. Candidiasis is also a problem with those who are on long-term steroids use or those who have HIV infection.
Candidiasis is caused by the yeast candida, a fungus. Candida is a common name of a group of yeasts, the trouble maker is c.albicans. Candida is common yeast which lives along with the normal bacteria (the good bacteria) in the human digestive track. Normally it is not a problem, but attacks occur whenever the body's immune system is weakened.
Are you bothered by itching and burning in sensitive areas? You may have a yeast infection. For more information about yeast infections and how to naturally prevent them, get the e-book, Yeast Infection No More, at Yeast Infection No More.

Diet is a powerful drug for healing
Here are a two paragraphs from a story in the June 13, 2007 online version of the Journal Star:
"Think of food as a powerful drug that can maintain health and reverse disease."
That's the message Dr. Neal Barnard will deliver in Peoria next week. A physician, author and leading authority on eating to combat disease, Barnard will talk about a new diet to fight diabetes, arthritis, weight gain, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and disease."
For the rest of the story go to: PJStar.com.
Diet Cures! - This is the realization I came to a few years ago, fighting my own health battles. Which is why I put together my website which features various e-books whose basis is how particular changes in diet and other natural methods can reverse diabetes, cure cancer and heart disease and other ailments.
I noticed that there were news stories all the time about the positive effects of diet changes, but the message was scattered. Thus, this blog. Diet is the foundation of lifelong good health. Look at the food you are eating, today.

Vitamin D and Calcium Together Reduces Risk of Cancer!
According to a Creighton Press Release,OMAHA, Neb., June 8 - Americans are not taking enough vitamin D, which may put them at significant risk for developing cancer!
A four-year, randomized study conducted by the Creighton University School of Medicine followed 1,179 healthy, postmenopausal women from rural eastern Nebraska. Participants taking calcium, as well as a quantity of vitamin D3 nearly three times the U.S. government's Recommended Daily Amount (RDA) for middle-age adults, showed a dramatic 60 percent or greater reduction in cancer risk than women who did not get the vitamin.
The results of this study, conducted between 2000 and 2005, were reported in the June 8 online edition of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Research participants were all 55 years and older and free of known cancers for at least 10 years prior to entering the Creighton study. Subjects were randomly assigned to take daily dosages of 1,400-1,500 mg supplemental calcium, 1,400-1,500 mg supplemental calcium plus 1,100 IU of vitamin D3, or placebos.
Over the course of four years, women in the calcium/vitamin D3 group experienced a 60 percent decrease in their cancer risk than the group taking placebos.
More about Vitamin D: There is a growing body of evidence that a higher intake of vitamin D may be helpful in the prevention and treatment of cancer, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, diabetes mellitus, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases.
More information about this story can be found at American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Once again, diet makes a difference! This latest study shows that making a change in your diet can help prevent cancer and other diseases. For more information about curing and preventing cancer through diet and other natural means, please visit:

Diabetes Prevention - Stay Away From Corn Syrup
According to a news article on Medical News Today mice fed on a high fat and fructose corn syrup diet quickly developed the first symptoms of glucose intolerance - the beginning of type II diabetes!
The research done Brent Tetri, M.D., associate professor of internal medicine at Saint Louis University Liver Center mimicked the typical meals served at fast food restaurants. The mice were not forced to eat, but ate when they were hungry over a 15 week period. A conclusion of the study is that:
"A high-fat and sugar-sweetened diet compounded by a sedentary lifestyle will have severe repercussions for your liver and other vital organs," Dr. Tetri says. "Fatty liver disease now affects about one of every eight children in this country. The good news is that it is somewhat reversible - but for some it will take major changes in diet and lifestyle."
Stay away from high fat content and fructose corn syrup! A change in your diet can have a profound effect. For more information on controlling and/or losing weight visit, Dieting-Help.com.
